The lighting that used the Japanese papers with wooden lacquer ware base is inspired by LIGHTNESS. Then the design represents a “torch”. The etymology of “torch” has a “twisted thing” in Latin. The Japanese paper shade of the lighting is easy to twist and arrange the shape as if shaping the light-self.
Same as LIGHTNESS, it is formed by 3 layers of paper and it is more durable because of coating by natural material made by farina. Also the pleating papers by hands make it strong and easy to keep the shape. Both coating and pleating are from traditional way of processing for Japanese paper.
